Sequel to Last Halloween’s Creepy ‘Take This Lollipop’ is in the Works
The creepy “Take This Lollipop,” which was dubbed the world’s fastest-growing Facebook app last fall, is about to get a sequel.
Zada is not very forthcoming about the plot: “The storyline for Lollipop 2 is highly guarded, but we can guarantee that it will be a much more intense experience that the first,” he wrote on the Kickstarter page.
Zada is looking for $150,000 to fund the sequel, which would hit before Halloween.
Launched in October 2011, the original “Lollipop” has been viewed by more than 100 million people, according to Zada, and has garnered 13 million “Likes.” The campaign also received a Daytime Emmy Award and inspired other campaigns, notably A&E’s push for the upcoming Coma minseries. The app was promoted with the above image of a blue lollipop with a razor inside. After clicking, users were presented with a video of a sinister guy looking at said user’s Facebook profile. Zada told Mashable at the time that he viewed the campaign as a “social experiment.”
