6 Lessons Humans Can Learn From Man’s Best Friend
Dogs are known to be mans best friend. They are loyal, cheerful, a little mischievous at times and, most importantly, they have the ability to open our eyes to new perspectives and attitudes.
Normally, humans are said to be the masters or teachers of our canine friends, but we can actually learn simple yet life-changing lessons from them. Below are six things you can learn from dogs:
1. Always welcome people with a warm salutation.
Dogs are known to greet people they know with wagging tails, huge smiling faces and plenty of cuddles and kisses. For us humans, we tend to forget to put on those cheerful grins when we see someone we know, especially when our moods and days arent going so well.
No matter what we are doing and feeling, we should always keep in mind to wear our happy expressions when we encounter the people close to our hearts. Remember, showing someone you are pleased to see them is a simple yet genuine way to show how you appreciate their presence.
2. Make each day special in your own simple way.
Having a bad day? Tired of the old routine? Do something different to spice things up!
Dogs are curious creatures who love to sniff around and explore their surroundings. Theyll always find a way to discover new things. So why not take a stop at that new caf you always pass by on your route to work to buy yourself a treat or give yourself a short break by walking around to sight-see. Youll never know what you may find!
3. Be patient in telling and reminding someone what you want them to do and what you dont.
When dogs misbehave, people tend to get annoyed and lose patience. Dogs need conditioning and practice in order to retain good behaviors and halt the bad ones.
For humans, constant reminders are a must to stop someone from continuing unlikable actions in order to transform them into better ones. But its important to also be patient when encouraging someone to change their ways. Being angry will only lead to conflict, confusion and discouragement.
4. Calmly explain things that bother you.
Furiously shouting at your fur-ball friends faults will only lead to fear. Similarly, humans who get shouted at feel belittled rather than learning what they can do to change themselves. If you explain something with composure, you can transmit your message more clearly and allow the other person to better understand you.
5. Let people do what they can to make your day better.
When things arent going well for you, your hairy buddy can easily cheer you up by simply snuggling right next to you or giving you all the dog kisses you can get. Dont be irritated if your dog does one of these things to you just because you are not in the mood to be around with anyone. Be grateful for what your pup can do to brighten your mood. The same goes for people who want to make you feel better – allow them to make you smile and laugh, even from the littlest of efforts. Appreciate the small stuff.
6. Fill your day with love and affection at all times.
No matter how your dogs day is going, your pup will always be in the happiest of moods to provide you your daily dose of canine love. People should learn how to make the most out of their days by giving out positive vibes to the people closest to their hearts.
Instead of coming home grumpy, feel delighted to see your family and friends after a long day at work or school. Give these people some affection as well. This will improve your mood and make things sunnier for you instead.
